1977 – Formation of Zimbabwe African People's Union (ZAPU) and ZIPRA United Front

On May 23, 1977, the Zimbabwe African People\’s Union (ZAPU) formalized its military alliance with the Zimbabwe People’s Revolutionary Army (ZIPRA), strengthening resistance to white-minority rule in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe).
